How to Transfer Data to a Wisephone Using Samsung Smart Switch
Samsung Smart Switch is a versatile tool that simplifies transferring data such as contacts, photos, messages, apps, and more to a Wisephone from either an Android or iOS device. This guide provides step-by-step instructions for transferring data from Android to Android and iOS to Android using various methods: USB cable, Wi-Fi wirelessly, and iCloud (for iOS). You can transfer personal content like contacts, calendars, notes, call history, bookmarks, photos, videos (DRM-free), documents, voice memos, and settings such as Wi-Fi and alarms. Note that certain third-party apps, like Signal and WhatsApp, may prevent data transfer due to encryption. For more details, refer to our related help article HERE.
General Prerequisites
- Compatible Devices: The source device (Android or iOS) must support Samsung Smart Switch. Most Android devices running Android 4.0 or later and iOS devices running iOS 5.0 or later are compatible.
- Samsung Smart Switch App: Download and install the Samsung Smart Switch Mobile app from the Google Play Store (for Android/Wisephone(Tool Drawer)) or App Store (for iOS).
- Charged Devices: Ensure both devices have at least 50% battery (80% for iOS transfers) or are connected to a charger.
- Stable Wi-Fi: For wireless transfers, connect both devices to a stable Wi-Fi network. On Wisephone, swipe down with two fingers from the top left, long-press the Wi-Fi icon, and select your network.
- Storage: Verify that the Wisephone has enough storage for the incoming data (check via My Files).
- Backup: Back up your data on the source device to prevent data loss (use Google Drive/Samsung Cloud for Android or iCloud/iTunes for iOS).
-
App Updates: Ensure the Smart Switch app is updated to the latest version on both devices.
Transferring Data from iOS to Android (Wisephone)
Prerequisites (iOS to Android)

- App Transfers: Install third-party apps on the Wisephone before transferring to ensure app data compatibility.
- Security: Your data is encrypted during transfer, and Samsung does not store your Apple ID or password.
Troubleshooting
-
Devices Not Connecting:
- USB: Ensure cables and adapters are securely connected and functional. Try a different cable if needed.
- Wi-Fi: Verify both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network. Restart the Smart Switch app or devices.
-
Transfer Interrupted:
- Restart the Smart Switch app on both devices and retry.
