Whether you're troubleshooting an issue or preparing to transfer ownership of your Wisephone II, a factory reset is a helpful way to restore the device to its original state. Follow the guide below based on whether you know your passcode or not.
🔧 Option 1: Factory Reset from Settings (if you know your passcode)
⚠️ This will erase all data on your device and restore it to the original WiseOS experience. Make sure to back up any important information first.
Steps:
Go to Settings
Tap Open System Settings
Select General Management
Tap Reset
Choose Factory Data Reset
Tap Reset (You may need to confirm by tapping OK)
-Your device will perform the reset and reboot to the start screenTap Start
Tap Agree
Select Settings and connect to your WiFi network, then tap Continue
Tap Next
Tap Continue
Tap More and Accept
A blue Samsung Knox Manage screen will appear briefly and load into a gray screen
After setup completes, the WiseOS software will reappear, and your phone will be reset
🔐 Option 2: Factory Reset Using Button Sequence (if you forgot your passcode)
⚠️ Be patient during this process—timing matters for the button presses. This will fully reset the device and remove any lock screen PIN. (read Notes section below)
Steps:
Press and hold Volume Up + Volume Down + Power until the screen goes black or the phone vibrates
When that happens, release only the Volume Down button, but continue holding Volume Up + Power
Once the Android Recovery Menu appears, release all buttons
Use the volume buttons to highlight Wipe data/factory reset
Press the Power button to confirm
Highlight Factory data reset and confirm again
Wait for the reset to finish, then choose Reboot system now
-Your device will perform the reset and reboot to the start screen
Once the phone restarts:
Tap Start
Tap Agree
Select Settings and connect to WiFi > tap Continue
Tap Next
Tap Continue
Tap More > Accept
The Samsung Knox Manage screen will appear and transition to a gray screen
When complete, WiseOS will automatically reload and appear on your phone
Note:
> If you're unable to reset your device, just double-check that the toggle switch is turned off in your portal account that controls your device. This way, everything should be smooth sailing!
